Nichola Nagy, owner of Blue Door Spa & Salon, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners and Entrepreneurs for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cosmetology and customer service.
Bolstered by almost three decades of experience, Ms. Nagy has built a widely successful career as a cosmetologist. Since 2005, she has excelled as the owner of Blue Door Spa & Salon, a full-service day spa and hair salon located in Bradenton, Florida. Alongside her colleagues, Ms. Nagy offers hair and skin care, massages, manicures, pedicures and waxing services. Prior to operating as a business owner, Ms. Nagy began her career managing Café Rouge Restaurants between 1994 and 1995 in the Cambridge, England.
As part of her dedication in the field, Ms. Nagy remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations. To wit, she is a member of the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Beauty Association and the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance. Well regarded for her contributions in the field, Ms. Nagy’s business was recognized several times as a finalist for Business of the Year in Manatee County. Furthermore, her spa has been consistently honored as the Best Day Spa, having been featured in Salon Today 200.
Before embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Nagy cultivated her own education. In 1994, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing and finance at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Furthermore, she holds several diplomas in aesthetic treatment, electrical epilation, and body massage therapy from the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology, a leading nonprofit academic institution in England. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Nagy is also recognized as a certified cosmetologist, beautician and beauty operator by CIDESCO International.
Accounting for her achievements in the field, Ms. Nagy attributes much of her success to her steady mind and ability to focus on and stick to her goals. Having previously managed several restaurants, her own coffee shop, and a night club in England, she always possessed a natural affinity for entrepreneurship, and so she subsequently decided to pursue her interests in cosmetology. Though her career has been filled with numerous memorable moments, she is most notably proud to have developed a positive relationship with her community and clients. In the coming years, Ms. Nagy hopes to continue expanding her company and growing her homestead.

It was a dream of mine to always be a business owner and when i turned to the beauty industry I found my home. Then wanting to live full time in my Florida home allowed me the opportunity to build my dream Spa.
It has not, however been without its trials and tribulations, I account many of my grey hairs to running a business (not just children and Ex husbands) ha ha ha
But the rewards have outweighed 10 fold. I have had the opportunity to raise new young entrepreneurs and meet wonderful clients. I have been able to be active in my community and give back.
So, if you are ever in the Bradenton, Sarasota area be sure to check us out.
I have three VERY different, but fabulously wonderful girls. 26 years, 21 years and 18 years. With some hindsight I perhaps should have had them all a bit closer together. But, what I will say about larger age gaps, is that you get some one on one time with each of them as they go through the many milestones of childhood to adulthood.

I have been blessed with smart, funny, and confident girls who I know will be forging a wonderful life for themselves.
I am equally blessed in the Hubbie department, a quiet and devoted man to his family and without question one of the smartest and hardest working I have ever known. He takes on projects like no other. He designed and hand built many of the buildings on our property and is always engineering the next one, much to mine and the girls amusement.
I will be posting on my blog some of his achievements. Watch this space.
Who knew that chickens could be so entertaining? To say I have enjoyed being a Chicken Herder to my small flock is an understatement.

"Palais de Poulet"
We are currently on our second set of pigs. Like the chickens they provide for our table. They get to live their best lives with amazing food and lots of love. Thank you Mr. Brown and Milkshake. Our current pair in residence, two males are named "Percy" and "Pepper"
This past spring we FINALLY added goats to our homestead... Oh my how we adore them. Initially we thought we would have them as meat goats, but that has quickly changed because we have fallen in love and they have become very pampered pets..LOL
However, once old enough we will breed them and have some milk.
Bees have been a big part of how this all started, they were the first thing we started with when we began homesteading. Fairly easy to keep, they provide us and friends with oodles of golden nectar.
From time to time we have Pet Turkeys, our latest was Leslie, a dear boy. RIP

YOU ARE NOT SELFISH!
In taking some time as a women of this modern world we give ourselves some space to care for all the many things we to cater to. If we are not OK, how can we take care of those around us. For me this has been spending time outdoors, walking and hiking, tending to my small flock of very amusing chickens and doing my daily personal development.
Life Surpassed has been my daily dose of being in the right mindset to achieve the goals I have dreamed of.
